I saw this photograph of work being done to repair the Boudhanath Stupa in Kathmandu, Nepal after some time now since the great earthquakes severely damaged this structure and collapsed so many temples, homes, buildings and killing so many.
As I gazed upon this I could see the many layers of meaning coming through. How interesting to note the "blind" eyes on the left, or perhaps some may say "empty". A deep principle in Buddhist teachings. Emptiness where also potential can be birthed. As seen from this image, this is happening as simultaneously to the right, the eyes are in full creation yet holding a soft gaze to allow the visions of many levels to perhaps be seen and felt. Not a strong, intent focus, yet an easy, take-it-all-in view. As this sacred space is being reconstructed, perhaps you and I and our whole world is also being destroyed and with new eyes to witness, a new world is being constructed. Something to ponder. I think of the people who are actually working on this segment of the stupa. Creating the space of the eyes, literally painting in the eyes of the Buddha, so he may see again in all directions. What a honor that must be. Giving sight so that all can see. Such an energetic exchange must be happening with these artists. I can't even imagine. I meditate to the intention that these new eyes will now see a quieter Earth and beings upon it that are less hateful and in fear. That these eyes may see ways of finding peace in each of our hearts thus allowing that peace to reverberate out. Knowing fully well that we hold the opposite yet allowing focus of harmony and healing to occur versus the dis-ease and chaos. May this new vision be seen everywhere. I see it so and so it is.

How beautiful Donna! Yes it does seem as if "these new eyes will now see a quieter Earth and beings upon it that are less hateful and in fear. That these eyes may see ways of finding peace in each of our hearts thus allowing that peace to reverberate out."
